Tier 1: Automated List Processing – Fast, Consistent, Reliable
Automated List Processing is the most cost effective, fast and easy way to clean your data while saving you money in your day to day data operations. It is at the core of most data cleansing processes. For example, regular NCOA updates enable you to get the maximum USPS postage discounts, while de-duping your file will insure mailing costs aren't wasted and customers or donors aren't annoyed.
The Automated List Process is designed to work with data that is structured and consistent. Most of the important data cleaning processes match the data in your file with data that is known to be outdated, erroneous or incomplete and then, when a match is made, replaces them with new and accurate information; or flags them as "Bad" (used for historical purposes). Many of your records, which potentially could have been matched and corrected, will be ignored. How many? That usually depends on the degree of data de-normalization (or "data drift" and the level of data erosion you have in your file. Our basic automation run does the following:
- Cleans and rewrites addresses to USPS CASS specifications (as outlined in USPS Postal Publication 28).
- Once the addresses are clean, NCOA can determine if the people and /or businesses on your list are still at the same address and, if not, will provide either the new address information or marks them as a Nixie (undeliverable as addressed).
- De-Dupe (identify duplicate records for removal). De-duping your file shows you probable duplicate records in your database. Your file is returned with the suspected dupes grouped, rated (per cent of match) and marked.
Indication:
Use regularly to keep your mailing list clean and up to date. Automated List Processing is also used as an integral component in more precise and exacting data management operations, such as Tier 2 Deep Data Cleansing and Tier 3 Data Migrations.
Notes:
The Automated List Processing package above is priced together as a bundle. You may also elect to have these processes done individually or combined with other automated procedures, such as Data Normalization, Parsing, and Casing etc. For a complete price breakdown see Terms and Fees.
